Mifare 1k Contactless Smart Card
The Mifare 1k contactless smart card is based on NXP MF1 IC S50 connected to a coil
with a few turns, and then embedded in plastic. No battery is needed. The communication
layer complies to part 2 and 3 of the ISO/ICE14443A standard. The security layer sports
the field proven CRYPTO1 stream cipher for secure data exchange of the Mifare Classic family.
MIFARE 1k is primarily used in closed systems as fixed value tickets
(e.g. weekly or monthly travel passes) or as tickets where value is
extracted from the card by the service provider. And today Mifare 1k is
in use around the globe in all different applications - from public transport,
road-tolling and parking meters, to accessing car parks and paying at fuel pumps.
